U6EE expands original Ultima VI magic in first person
Move a potion from a distance, operate the drawbridge and investigate a chest before opening it: the adaptation is moving beyond walking, bringing more of the classic's decisions into its first-person presentation.

24 spells, following the classic's rules
The local alpha now connects 24 of Ultima VI's 80 player spells to Nuvie's casting command. Learning, magic points, reagents and consequences remain governed by the core running the game.
This marks progress in integrating original systems. U6EE still aims to preserve Ultima VI's world, story and progression while changing the perspective. The 24 spells represent current coverage of this system, not a measure of campaign completion.
Telekinesis: interact from a distance
The latest addition lets you select a scene object and choose a direction to move it. Levers and cranks are operated directly. The core decides whether range, obstacles and destination allow the action.
Local tests moved a potion into free space and rejected a move into a wall. A lever opened and closed the portcullis, while a crank lowered and raised the drawbridge. The resulting states were also checked after saving and reloading.
Locks and traps have consequences
Trap and Untrap arm and disarm objects in supported cases; Lock and Unlock Magic complete the cycle of locking, unlocking and opening. Tests checked contents, lock state, trap effects and persistence.
Detect Trap serves a different purpose: investigation. The original check is preserved, so failing to detect a trap does not guarantee that an object is safe. Discovering a danger does not disarm it either.
Light, vision and detection
Great Light keeps Light's brightness for a longer duration. Infravision makes visible characters readable in darkness without lighting the room or seeing through walls. Effect duration and save reloads were checked.
Detect Magic reads original objects to identify magical properties, including potion effects. These answers come from the game's simulation, rather than messages invented by the 3D presentation.
What the tests demonstrate
The latest round passed 414 Python tests, alongside checks in the core and Godot presentation. Cases cover obstacle refusals, resource consumption, action selection and cancellation, mechanisms and reloading saved states.
These checks cover specific local situations. Other directions, target categories and object combinations still need testing. They do not establish stable performance across the entire world.
What comes next
56 player spells remain, alongside other systems and full-campaign validation. Vanish and Reappear are the next integration candidates. Performance on long journeys remains an open investigation.
These additions belong to one magic update in preparation, rather than a new public version for every implementation. U6EE remains a local alpha: no portable package or public download has been announced.
